The Great Springs Trail Race - San Marcos is scheduled for October 11, 2025, at Purgatory Creek Natural Area in San Marcos, Texas. Race distances listed are:

Packet pickup is available on the days before and the morning of the event at the Lower Purgatory Trailhead. Entries include race merchandise; the shirt order cutoff is September 16.
Course, logistics and services
The main route is a well marked 13.1 mile loop with single track, wider speedy sections, rolling hills, and rocky limestone sections. The 10K uses a turnaround at the first aid station (Dreamers). Course markings include orange caution tape, yellow arrows, and confidence markers; signs at intersections indicate distance-specific turns.
There are three aid stations including the start/finish. All aid stations will provide water and Tailwind at minimum; the main start/finish and the on-course station past halfway will also offer grab-and-go snacks, fruit, and varied drinks. Drop bags and crew access are allowed at the Flow aid station at the Upper Purgatory Trailhead; spectators have an access point at mile 6.9.
Timing is chip based with chips issued at the venue and required to be worn on the ankle. Pacers are not allowed. Awards include Top 3 Overall and Top 1 Masters (age 50+). Parking at the lower trailhead is very limited; alternative parking is available at nearby Hays County Election Office and Hernandez Elementary School. The city may cancel the event in very wet conditions; a backup date of October 21 is listed. Camping is not offered at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
