Event overview
The Viking races take place on February 14, 2026, in Concord, NC (zip 28027) at Vietnam Veterans Park, located at the Dogwood Shelter, 760 Orphanage Rd. The event includes three race options: a 5K, a 10K, and a Half Marathon. All runners must register on RunSignup; there is no on-site registration and registration prices increase the Monday before the race. Packet pickup opens 30 minutes before the race and closes 10 minutes before the race start. The event has a course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes.
Course and logistics
The park course is mostly paved with a stretch of gravel and dirt and is described as shaded. When entering the park, bathrooms are located in the right corner of the parking lot. The 5K and 10K use the same out-and-back loop; the loop measures about 3.11 miles total, with the 5K completing it once and the 10K completing it twice. The Half Marathon uses a slightly longer out-and-back loop of about 3.28 miles and repeats that out-and-back four times.
