Harding Hustle

The Harding Hustle takes place on Saturday, July 18, 2026, in the Cleveland National Forest near Silverado, CA. The event uses Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary in Modjeska Canyon as the start/finish area; parking is at Oakley Lower Parking Lot in Lake Forest and a shuttle is required for access to Tucker (no parking allowed at the sanctuary).

  • 50K - 31.1 miles, 5,926 ft total elevation gain, time limit 9 hours
  • 30K - 18.4 miles, 3,482 ft total elevation gain, time limit 7.5 hours
  • 15K - 9.2 miles, 2,088 ft total elevation gain, time limit 6 hours

Course and logistics

All courses run primarily on the Harding Truck Trail jeep road through the Santa Ana Mountains. The 30K and 15K are out-and-back routes to Laurel Springs; the 50K travels to Santiago and Modjeska peaks and includes multiple aid stations such as Laurel Springs, Maple Springs, Mojeska Base, and Santiago Peak. Due to remoteness, on-course crew is not allowed and pacers are prohibited. Finish-line drop bags are permitted; no on-course drop bags. A shuttle is required for runners and spectators; runner dropoff at Tucker is allowed but no parking on site.

The event notes hot, dry July conditions with temperatures that have often reached the 90s to 100s by early afternoon and recommends water capacity of at least 1 liter between aid stations. Race features include chip timing, a gender-specific race shirt (if ordered by the stated deadline), aid stations, post-race food, and a finisher award. Course record times: 50K - 3:44:10 (men), 4:36:52 (women); 30K - 1:56:21 (men), 2:35:53 (women); 15K - 56:55 (men), 1:10:59 (women). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
