The Harpoon 5-Miler takes place on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Harpoon Brewery in South Boston. It is the 25th annual running of the event and includes the Harpoon 5-Miler and a Spectator entry. The race route runs through the streets of South Boston. Registration is scheduled to open in early 2026.
Charity and post-race
The event benefits two charities: The Angel Fund for ALS Research and the Peter Frates Family Foundation. Over the years the race has raised more than $3 million for ALS research and care. After the race there is a post-race celebration at Harpoon Brewery with beverages and music for runners, volunteers, and spectators. The previous (24th) edition was reported as sold out.
