Event overview

The Harvest Moon Run is a nighttime 5K run and walk held in Route 66 State Park in Eureka, Missouri on October 11, 2025. The course is paved and mostly flat, with pathlighters placed along the route to illuminate the way. The event supports a Hunger Mission that benefits local food programs and pantries, including the Eureka-Pacific Elks Lodge Weekend Backpack Food Program, Agape House-Pacific, Eureka Food Pantry, Feed My People-High Ridge, and Peace Pantry-Cedar Hill. The Harvest Moon Run is a 100% volunteer 501(c)(3) organization.

Distances, participation and logistics

  • Mini Moonie Dash - 1/10 mile (ages 4 and under)
  • Moonie 1/2 Mile - 1/2 mile (ages 5-7)
  • Moonie Mile - 1 mile (ages 8-10)

The 5K is a timed event. 5K participants receive a long-sleeve event t-shirt and an Energizer headlight; online registration by October 8 guarantees t-shirt size and headlight. Kids' fun runs for ages 10 and under are free; shirts and headlights are not included but can be obtained for donations (youth medium or adult sizes for a donation, headlight for a donation while supplies last). Packet pickup is available the day before at The Timbers of Eureka Recreation Center and on event day at Route 66 State Park. Awards include custom medals for overall male and female winners and first place medals in multiple age brackets; medals are also given to first place boy and girl in each kids category.
