Course, aid and logistics
Distances:
- Half marathon - one loop of about 13 miles, including an initial 1/3 mile on pavement.
- 50k - a 19-mile loop followed by the half-marathon loop, totaling close to 32 miles.
The course will be heavily marked with ribbons and wrong-way signs. Volunteers will be stationed at Hell Hill to assist. There are two full aid stations at the start/finish and at Hell Hill; an unmanned water and Proxima C station is located at mile 5 and another around mile 13 on the Hell Creek Loop (the latter applies only to 50k runners). Aid station supplies include water, soda, Proxima C Endurance Fuel, and typical ultra food. Restrooms are available at the start/finish, porta-potties near the other full aid, and hot showers at Big Bluestem campground about 3/4 mile from the start/finish. All entrants receive a tank top; finishers receive a medal (half) or a 50k belt buckle. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance.
