Event overview
The PLEA Foundation presents the I Support The K9s Color Run, a 5K fundraiser at River Bends Park in Shelby Township, MI. The 2025 event was postponed; the rescheduled date is May 9, 2026. Event categories are Runner 18+, Walker 18+, and Child 6-17. Registration for the 2026 event lists prices of $25 for adult runner and walker categories and $15 for the child category. The event raises funds for essential safety equipment for police K9s. Registered participants receive a T-shirt, medal, racing bib and refreshments. Course and logistics
The course uses the paved path at River Bends Park and includes six color stations staffed by color throwers who will apply colored powder to participants. Attendees should enter via the 22 Mile entrance; parking and check-in are at the Hickory Grove Pavilion near the playground. Waivers must be signed to participate; participants receive a confirmation email after registration to show at check-in. Packet pick-up is available at the Rochester office on the Friday before the event. Participants affected by the 2025 postponement may transfer their registration to May 9, 2026, convert their fee to a tax-deductible donation, request a mailed 10th anniversary T-shirt or arrange an in-office hoodie pick-up, or request a refund.
