ICY-8 and Half Marathon+
The event is the 18th annual ICY-8, held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Lake Anna State Park in Spotsylvania, VA (6800 Lawyers Road). It includes the traditional ICY-8 8-hour adventure trail run and a concurrently held ICY-8 Half Marathon+ on a figure-8 course. The Half Marathon+ requires runners to complete the loops from largest to smallest and allows six hours to complete the distance. Registration closes Monday, February 2, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET. Runners and hikers are both welcome.
Course details
The course is looped and mostly trail-based. Approximately 90% of the course is trail and about 10% (roughly 0.4 miles) is a mix of trail and closed paved road. Trails are a mix of single-track and double-track; over 70% are double-track about 6 ft wide. The start and finish are centralized in the parking area next to the Lake Anna Visitor Center.
