Event overview
James River Trail Runs is held at James River State Park in Gladstone, VA (104 Green Hill Drive). The event is scheduled in April 2026 and includes daytime and a night race. The 10 miler is included in the Virginia State Park Adventure Series. The event offers discounts for military, veterans, fire, police, EMS, medical staff and teachers, group discounts for five or more, and a promotion for groups of three. Course and categories
The main course is a 10 mile loop with about 1,025 feet of climbing per loop. Loop features: the first 5 miles have sustained climbing and descending on single and double track; about 3.5 miles run alongside the Historic James River and are described as flat; the final 0.5 mile returns with a steep climb to the start/finish. Runners may complete multiple loops to register different distances: finishing one loop records a 10 mile time, three loops a 50K time, and five loops a 50 mile time.
