Jogging For Jakey 5K
The Jogging For Jakey 5K, held annually in Hamburg, Michigan, is a community running event supporting children and young adults with physical and cognitive disabilities. The 6th annual race takes place at Bennett Park, featuring a paved 5K course along Lakeland Trails that loops back to the park. Proceeds benefit the Pathway School in Howell, which provides specialized education and support for individuals with complex disabilities.
Participants receive a T-shirt (if registered by mid-August), enjoy post-race snacks, and can enter a raffle with prizes from local businesses. The event fosters a supportive atmosphere, honoring the memory of Jacob Smotherman while promoting inclusion and awareness. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
