Event overview
The K9 Candy Cane 5K Fun Run and Walk takes place on Sunday, December 7, 2025, in Renton, WA. The event is based at the Renton Community Center Campus and follows the paved Cedar River Trail before returning to the campus. Chip timing is provided by Bell Lap Productions; the race bib serves as the timing chip and should be worn outside clothing facing forward. Timing concludes 45 minutes after the start. Awards will be given to the top three overall finishers in female, male, non-binary, and youth categories. All participants receive free event stickers. The event includes an annual pet food drive; attendees may bring a can or bag of pet food for donation.
Registration, pickup and participant rules
Registration windows include Early Bird (August 28 to November 1), Standard Price (November 2 to November 21 morning), and Last Chance (November 21 morning through December 6). Early Bird and Standard registrations guarantee a unisex hooded sweatshirt; Last Chance registrants are not eligible for a sweatshirt. Fees vary by age group: ages 4-17 and ages 18 and up have different fees across windows.
Pre-registered participants may pick up race bibs and sweatshirts at the Renton Community Center (1715 Maple Valley Hwy) on Saturday, December 6, 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM, or onsite the morning of the event. Strollers are allowed. Dogs are permitted with restrictions: no more than two dogs per person, dogs must be at least six months old, current on vaccinations, on a leash no longer than 6 feet, and owners must pick up after their dogs.
