Kansas Rails-To-Trails Extravaganza
The Kansas Rails-to-Trails Extravaganza, held at Celebration Hall in Ottawa, Kansas, is a multi-distance ultrarun on the Prairie Spirit Trail. Distances include 100 Mile, 100K, 50 Mile, 50K, Marathon, Half Marathon, and a 5-Miler, with routes weaving north-south along a crushed limestone trail through small Kansas towns. The course features out-and-back legs and turnarounds in towns like Iola, Garnett, Richmond, Welda, and Princeton, with plenty of manned and unmanned aid stations about every five miles.
The atmosphere is family-friendly and crew-accessible; pacers are allowed for the final half. Finishers receive a belt buckle or medal, photos, post-race meals, a race shirt, and optional hoodies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
