Event overview
The 5th Annual Kickin It For Katy is a community running and walking event on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Fairmont State University in Fairmont, WV (1201 Locust Ave). The event includes a 5k run and a walking event. The course starts and finishes at the Falcon Center Quad. A post-event festival will be held on campus with food trucks and multiple activities.

Registration fees listed on the event page show $25 for the 5k and $25 for the walk. Volunteer options are available, including a $20 option with a shirt and complimentary food truck tickets, and a no-cost volunteer option. Walk registration has a brief closure at the start of January 2026 and reopens afterward. Volunteer registration ends April 22, 2026.
Festival activities include live music, awareness tables (suicide, addiction, veterans, and similar topics), a National Guard pull-up contest, a large basket raffle, face painting, a dunk tank (weather permitting), games, and food trucks. Awards will be given to the top three men and women in each age category; overall top three men and women receive cash prizes of $75, $50, and $25. Water is provided at the finish line and each participant receives three food-truck tickets. All proceeds support a local scholarship fund and the Marion County Humane Society.
