The Morgantown Running Turkey Trot is scheduled for Thursday, November 27, 2025 in Morgantown, WV. The event includes:
- 5k Run/Walk
- 800 m Kids Turkey Fun Run (kids under 12; two heats: under 5 and ages 5-12)
Awards will be given to the top three male and top three female 5k finishers, and to the top male and top female 5k walkers. Walk participants must remain walking for the walk category. Random prize drawings will also be held. The first 1,000 registered participants will receive a pair of socks. Dogs are not allowed. No refunds.
Course, registration and logistics
The 5k course begins on the blue track by the WVU Coliseum, includes nearly a full lap of the track, then follows Mon Blvd, Boyers Avenue, Leeway Street and the rail trail for the final approximately 2 miles, finishing behind the Seneca Center at Morgantown Running. The kids 800 m is two laps around the blue track and will be run in two heats.
Parking is available at the track start or at the Seneca Center finish. A shuttle service provided by Fox Shuttle Service will operate before and after the event. Online registration closes November 24. In-person registration and packet pick-up are available at Morgantown Running during regular business hours and on race morning at the Shell Building.
