Coopers Rock 50 km and Half Marathon - April 25, 2026
The event is a night trail run held at Coopers Rock State Forest in Bruceton Mills, WV on April 25, 2026. Registration is scheduled to open on or around November 1, 2025. The event is limited to a combined total of 250 entries and uses the Overlook Area as the start and finish location.

Course, aid and rules
The 50 km follows nearly every trail on the south side of the forest, with scenic overlooks of the Cheat Canyon and Cheat Lake, boulder formations, and about 5000 feet of elevation gain. The half marathon follows a shorter version of the same trails and has about 2000 feet of elevation gain. Neither course contains repeating loops.
There are 6 aid stations on the 50 km and 3 on the half marathon, spaced about 3 to 7 miles apart. Aid stations will offer standard ultra foods including cookies, potato chips, pickles, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, water, and gatorade. Runners are asked to carry water and food between stations and to bring a collapsible cup to reduce waste. Drop bags are allowed for 50 km runners at Picnic Shelter #1 (Aid Station #2). Cutoff times are enforced and runners who miss a cutoff must stop and follow volunteer instructions. Rules include a minimum age of 18, mandatory carried light and spare batteries for the night event, visible bib placement, no pacers, and required compliance with event management.
