Event overview
The Lake Hodges Off‑Road Duathlon is a run-bike-run event held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the Piedras Pintadas Trailhead as part of the Lake Hodges Trail Fest. The duathlon is a multi-sport course with three legs:
- 10 km run
- 22 km bike
- 5 km run
The event lists a combined mileage of about 23 miles. Competitors may enter as individuals or as teams of 2–3, with each team member completing one leg. The event is chip timed; transitions are not separately recorded and the chip records continuous time.
Logistics and race services
The event is open to ages 10–80. Course maps and elevation profiles are available through the organizer’s Plotaroute links. This is a cupless event; participants must bring their own hydration vessel. An approved helmet is required for the bike leg. Allowed bike types include Mountain, Gravel, and Hybrid; electric bikes are not permitted. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance and in team and equipment categories. All finishers receive event merchandise (tri-blend shirt, handcrafted wooden medal, drink vessel, hat, and bike plate) when registered by October 7, 2025. Packet pick-up is offered pre-race at Milestone Running Store (North Park) and on race day at the venue. Parking is available in the trail parking area, along Bernardo Road, and at Bernardo Park.
