Event overview
The Lake Tahoe Marathon weekend is scheduled for October 17-19, 2025 and is the 30th running of the event. It takes place around Lake Tahoe on both the California and Nevada sides. The main Sunday marathon starts in Homewood and finishes on Lakeside Beach in South Lake Tahoe. The event is organized as a multi-day festival with races running Friday through Sunday and includes in-person aid stations and course maps.

- 72-mile Ultra - Midnight Express one-lap around Lake Tahoe
- 4-person Marathon Relay
- Kids Pumpkin Runs - free entry with pumpkin, hotdog, drink, bib
Several races are downhill courses; the Emerald Bay Half begins at Inspiration Point and is described as nearly all downhill. Finishers receive medals and shirts, and free race photos are provided by Captivating Photography. Youth athletes 17 and under receive an automatic 20% discount. Time limits are posted: a 7-hour limit for the Marathon and an 8-hour limit for the earlier starting Marathon Walk; official timing ends at 3 PM on Sunday except for Ultra runners.
