Event overview
The Last Man Standing Ultramarathon takes place on September 5, 2026, at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, Maine. It is run on wooded trails at Oak Hill Trail and uses a backyard ultra format in which participants repeat the same loop until a single finisher remains.
Course, format and facilities
The course is a 4.2 mile loop composed of double track with some moderate elevation gain. Racers have a fixed time limit to complete each loop; those who return within the time limit may line up for the next lap. Laps repeat until only one participant completes a loop within the limit; if all remaining participants fail to finish a loop within the limit, the event ends without a winner.
Organizers provide a large tent with water and some snack food. Additional food is available for sale in the afternoon and evening. Participants are responsible for their own nutrition. Pineland Farms enforces a strict no dogs policy; anyone who brings a dog will be asked to leave and will be disqualified. Over seven years the event has drawn participants from multiple U.S. states, Canadian provinces, and European countries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
