About the race
The Laurel Highlands Ultra - Fall Classic is a challenging 50K trail race held in Somerset, Pennsylvania, along the scenic Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail. The 2025 event features a point-to-point course starting at Laurel Summit State Park and finishing at Rt 56 in Seward, showcasing rugged terrain with rock mazes, ferns, moss, and rhododendron tunnels. Runners face over 3,700 feet of ascent and 5,100 feet of descent.
A new 2-person relay option is available, with legs of approximately 17.4 and 13.4 miles. Aid stations are well-stocked with diverse food options, and the race benefits the Pennsylvania Parks & Forest Foundation, supporting trail maintenance and conservation.
