The Lincoln Memorial Garden Trail Race 8K takes place on May 30, 2026, in Springfield, Illinois at Lincoln Memorial Garden (2301 East Lake Shore Drive). The event includes an 8K Trail Race and a Kids Fun Run. The 8K course is entirely within the Garden and passes trails next to Lake Springfield and through the Ostermeier Prairie Center grounds. Course surfaces include wood-chipped trails, fine-chip gravel, grass trails, wood-plank bridges, and a short gravel driveway. Spikes are not allowed due to the bridges and paved start/finish area. There is no rain date and no refunds.

Registration opens February 1, 2026. Early 8K registration is listed at $32; regular price $37 after April 15, 2026, plus a variable signup fee. The 8K is limited to 300 participants; the Kids Fun Run has no participant limit. Each 8K registrant receives a 50% cotton / 50% polyester shirt and a wooden tree branch medallion; food and drinks are provided after the race. Kids receive a t-shirt and a finishing medal. Packet pickup is scheduled Friday 4-6 p.m. at the Springfield Running Center. Awards for the 8K include top male, female, and non-binary winners, top masters (40 and over) winners, age-group awards, and $50 gift cards for select winners.
