About the race
Lions on the Leon Captain "D" Dash for Sight 5K Fun Run/Walk takes place in Belton, Texas at Heritage Park (1502 Park Avenue). The course begins near the soccer fields, proceeds along Park Avenue, winds through a neighborhood, and returns to the Heritage Park lot—nearly a 5K. Not a timed race, it’s the kick-off for Lions on the Leon.
Awards cover Adult Male & Female and 11 & under, plus a Costume Award; every registered 5K participant receives a commemorative spinner medal. Swag bags and bib raffles add to the fun. Afterward, enjoy Picnic in the Park with music, concessions, crafts, pumpkin decorating, face painting, carnival games, and the Leon River boat race; strollers welcome.
