Live Brave 5K and 1 Mile
The event features the following race options:
- 5K
- 1 Mile
- The Brave Challenge: run both 5K & 1 Mile
Both courses are USATF certified. The event benefits the Live Brave Fund, part of the Woodbury Community Foundation, supporting youth eating disorder awareness, prevention and recovery. Race timing uses both gun and chip timing. Course records and a $250 prize are listed for the 5K and 1 Mile events.
Competition structure and eligibility:
- The 5K is open to ages 8 to 100.
- The 1 Mile is open to ages 1 to 100; kids 12 and under run free in the mile.
- The 1 Mile includes competitive and community waves; competitive entry has specified performance thresholds.
- USATF members receive a $5 registration discount when a membership number is provided.
Location and logistics
Place: Colby Lake Park Shelter Area, 9715 Valley Creek Rd, Woodbury, MN 55125. Packet pickup is available prior to race day at TC Running Store, 779 Bielenberg Dr., Woodbury, MN, with listed pickup times on the two days before the event; race day packet pickup also opens at the event. There is no race day registration. Teams can be created during registration; 5K teams are eligible for team prizes, including a $200 Visa gift card for the biggest team and the fastest team (top five times counted).
