Man Against Horse 50Mi
The Man Against Horse Race, held annually in Prescott, Arizona, is a unique endurance event where runners and horseback riders compete simultaneously on the same challenging courses. Established in 1983 from a bar bet, the race features three distances: a 50-mile main event with about 7,300 feet of elevation gain and loss, traversing diverse terrain from grasslands to ponderosa pine forests; a 25-mile race sharing much of the 50-mile route with 3,300 feet of elevation change; and a half marathon (13 miles) designed as an introductory ride or run with gentler hills. The courses combine single track, double track, and dirt roads, offering a scenic and varied Arizona mountain experience. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
