Marine Corps Historic Half
The Marine Corps Historic Half takes place in Fredericksburg, VA on May 17, 2026. The course runs from the Central Park retail area through downtown shops and restaurants, climbs Hospital Hill, and finishes with support from the U.S. Marines. The event includes a finisher medal, a technical participant shirt, and a start ceremony that concludes with the blast of a vintage musket. Registration is open. Participants must be at least 14 years old and able to maintain a 17:30 minute per mile pace.

Additional events, bundles and policies
A new Esprit de Corps Challenge pairs the Semper Fred 5K on Saturday with the main Historic Half on Sunday; finishers of both events receive the two event medals plus an exclusive challenge medal. The Semper Fidelis Challenge bundle links the Historic Half on May 17 with the Marine Corps Marathon on October 25. The Distinguished Participant bundle covers five event weekends across 2026 for a special medal. A teams competition is available for affiliated groups.
The event offers a transfer program for registered runners to transfer entries or change events. Refundable registration options are available with differing terms depending on purchase date; some options require proof and documentation for refund requests.
