Marsh Madness
Marsh Madness is a free 32-hour ultra marathon held at the Pointe Mouillee State Game Area in South Rockwood, Michigan, where the Huron River, Detroit River, and Lake Erie converge. The race features scenic views of Ontario and Ohio across the water and takes place on dikes within one of the largest freshwater marsh restoration projects in the world. The course consists of an 8-mile loop during the day and a 5-mile loop at night, with 80% gravel and 20% asphalt surfaces and minimal elevation gain.
Participants must provide their own aid and nutrition, with support from crew and pacers allowed. The event is limited to 50 runners and emphasizes a self-supported, environmentally conscious experience. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
