About the race
The Memorial Day Flag Run, held in Black Canyon City, Arizona, is a patriotic trail event featuring 5K and 10K distances with options to run or ruck carrying a 35-pound pack. Participants are encouraged to carry American flags individually or as teams to honor fallen service members. The out-and-back courses traverse scenic Black Canyon Trails, offering a challenging and meaningful experience.
This cupless event promotes environmental responsibility, requiring runners to bring their own hydration. Emergency water stations are staffed by US Marine Veterans, who may ask participants to perform burpees for water. Proceeds support the Anthem-Daisy Mountain Veterans organization, dedicated to honoring and assisting military members and their families.
