Memorial Day Run & March : Colorado Springs, May 16, 2026
The Memorial Day Run & March is organized by the Special Forces Foundation at America The Beautiful Park in Colorado Springs, CO. The event raises food donations for local homeless Veterans and states that 100% of registration proceeds benefit local Colorado Veterans. Since 2015 the event reports over 205,000 pounds of food donated. Kids 12 and under receive free entry to the fairgrounds and any route, without a timing bib, shirt, or medal. The first 100 finishers will receive an exclusive T-shirt.
Routes, requirements and rules
- 5K - Run or ruck; 3.1 miles alongside the 30K ruck march.
- 10K - Run or ruck; 6.2 miles alongside the 30K ruck march.
- 30K - Ruck only; carry a 25 lb rucksack of non-perishable food.
All routes are chip-timed and participants receive timing bibs. The 30K ruck march is ruck-only, requires a 25 lb pack of donated dry goods, and must be completed within the allotted time. Strollers and wheelchairs are allowed; bicycles and in-line skates are not. Dogs are welcome on leash but are not permitted inside the event center. The course includes some unpaved sections. Headphones are allowed if volume is kept low. Food donations are distributed to local veteran support organizations. Medical personnel and a golf cart will be available on site.
