Midnight Special 5K : overview
The Midnight Special 5K takes place December 31, 2025 to January 1, 2026 in Toledo, Ohio. The event offers the following distances:
- 5K Run
- Virtual 5K (includes shipping)
- Virtual 5K - no shipping
Entry fees listed are $40 for the 5K, $55 for the virtual option with shipping, and $40 for the virtual option without shipping. Toledo Roadrunners Club members receive a $5 discount. A $5 price increase applies after December 22, 2025. Online registration closes December 31, 2025.
Location and race details
The in-person race is based at Patron Saints Brewery, 4730 W. Bancroft Street, Toledo, OH 43615. The course is an out-and-back on the University Parks Trail, running west toward Wildwood Metropark and returning via the same route. The course does not cross any roads; participants should be aware of vehicles in the brewery parking lot. The course is not lit; small ground lights will mark direction and participants are advised to use personal lights.
This is a chip timed event. There are no water stops on the course; water and snacks will be provided at the finish. Awards are given for Overall Male, Overall Female, Overall Masters Male, and Overall Masters Female; there are no age-group awards. The first 160 registrants receive a TRRC headlamp and the first 150 finishers receive a pint glass. Guaranteed hoodies (unisex, S to XX-large) require ordering by December 12, 2025.
