The event uses a roughly one-mile looped course at Sunset Whitney Recreation Area, mostly compact dirt with some paved sections and about 62 feet of elevation gain per loop. There is a central aid station located in the parking area on course and a water-only station about halfway around the loop. The aid station menu includes drinks, snacks, hot broths, cooked-to-order items, and evening and morning meal options. The event is cupless; runners should bring labeled bottles or cups.
On-site camping is available for longer distance entries (Friday–Monday) and gear rental options are offered (tents, pads, sleeping bags, tables, chairs). Volunteers receive race credits for certain shifts. Awards include participant swag, a mug and shoe bag, podium awards for each timed event, and custom buckles for 100- and 150-mile finishers.
