Miles for Music - Event details
Miles for Music takes place on Saturday, May 16, 2026 in Beaufort, North Carolina at 500 Front Street. The event includes the following distances:
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
Registration opens November 24, 2025. Entry fees listed in the event information are $30 for the 5K and $20 for the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk. Participants who register by May 1, 2026 are guaranteed a race t-shirt; registrations after that date are not guaranteed a shirt or swag bag and may receive items based on availability. This is the 7th annual Miles for Music event.
Course, awards and logistics
The course is an out-and-back route along Front Street with waterfront views in historic downtown Beaufort. The route is described as flat and wheelchair accessible. Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome in both distances. Packet pick up is available on race morning at John Newton Park, 500 Front Street, and early packet pick up is available Friday, May 15 at Periwinkle, 110 Middle Lane from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The race is timed by Run The East, LLC. Proceeds from sponsorships and registrations will benefit the East Carteret High School Marching Mariners to support instruments, equipment, student financial assistance, and other band program needs. Awards will be given for the 5K in male and female age categories for ages 18+, 13-17, and 12 and under. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
