Montana Cup : event overview
The Montana Cup is a team cross-country meet held in Bozeman, Montana, at Gallatin County Regional Park (5000 Tschache Ln, Bozeman, MT 59718). The event brings together runners from Montana regions to compete for a traveling trophy called the Montana Cup. Race day includes check-in and packet pickup, a national anthem, separate men's and women's races, and awards with refreshments. Each year’s course varies; distances are always between 5k and 8k and run over cross-country terrain with grass, dirt, gravel, steep sections, and possible mud or snow.
Entry, eligibility and rules
Entry for each event is $30 plus the event platform fee; registration closes October 31, 2025. Events are divided by gender and age: men and women age 39 and under, and men and women age 40 and over. All participants must wear an official Montana Cup team jersey; jerseys may be borrowed on race day or purchased for $15 after the race. Competitors must represent the Montana city team where they live, work, or study; Montana residency may be verified at check in. Non-residents and collegiate rostered athletes may run as unaffiliated non-scoring competitors and remain eligible for individual awards.
