Event overview
The Mount Rainier Trail events take place July 17-18, 2026 at Crystal Mountain Resort in Enumclaw, Washington. The weekend includes multi-distance dirt trail races that start at mountain terrain and finish at the resort base. The half marathon begins at the summit and descends through forested trails, ridge lines, and meadows to the base, with about 2,400 ft of net descent. The event is not wheelchair or stroller accessible. Expo and bib pickup are held on July 17 at Crystal Mountain Resort, Lot B, with expo hours listed from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Courses and logistics
Race entries include an all-day scenic gondola pass and a race shirt and finisher medal for finishers. Parking is located in Lot B, with supplemental Lots C, D, and E; on-site volunteers will direct parking. On-site camping options are offered at the official Vacation Races campground with tent, RV, and car camping prices listed and required reservations; check-in and check-out windows apply. Hydration on course follows a cup-free policy; runners are asked to bring a reusable bottle, cup, or hydration pack.
Distances offered:
- Trail 5K - out-and-back forest road
- Hill Climb 5K - 3.1 miles, 2,300+ ft ascent
- Downhill 10K - 6.2 miles, ~2,500 ft drop
- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles, ~2,400 ft descent
