Mt. Rose Hill Climb

The Mt. Rose Hill Climb is a roughly 10+ mile out-and-back trail race from Mt. Rose Trailhead in Reno, Nevada, to the summit of Mt.

Rose at 10,776 feet. The course follows single-track mountain trails through National Forest lands and Mt. Rose Wilderness, offering waterfalls, alpine scenery, and views of Lake Tahoe and surrounding peaks.

Racers climb about 2,398 vertical feet (and descend the same) with a staggered start to spread participants. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Washoe County Sheriff’s Hasty Team, supporting year-round search and rescue. It is USATF-sanctioned and timed by SAR volunteers, with prizes for top male and female finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
