Courses and logistics
Distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half marathon
- Half marathon relay
All courses run along the shores of Lake Washington for almost their entire length. The half marathon is two laps: the first lap is 6.9 miles with a quick steep hill early on, the second lap is 6.2 miles and flatter. The 10K is two laps (3.7 miles and 2.5 miles). The 5K is 3.1 miles with a steep quick hill near the start. The relay can be completed in any order as long as both laps are run; the relay handoff is at the park gazebo just before the finish.
Aid stations are placed every 2-3 miles and are stocked with Clif and GU gels and Tailwind Endurance Fuel. The race is cupless; participants are encouraged to use a handheld bottle, hydration pack, or a small reusable cup. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers by gun time, plus age-group awards in five-year increments; awards must be picked up at the race. About 200 parking spots are available in the Upper Loop of Seward Park, with additional parallel and on-street parking. Free gear check is provided; participants should bring their own bag. Dogs may not participate but are allowed at the start and finish areas. Strollers are allowed for the 5K and 10K, but not the half marathon.
