The Karen P Nakon Turkey Dash is scheduled for Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Avon High School, 37545 Detroit Road, Avon, OH 44011. The event includes a 5 km Turkey Dash and a Kids Turkey Dash for children 12 and under. The race is held on Thanksgiving morning and typically draws over 1,500 runners, walkers, and spectators. Proceeds support financial aid for families in Northern Ohio affected by a breast cancer diagnosis. Over the past 22 years the event has raised more than $500,000 for that mission.
Race services, awards and timeline
Packet pickup and registration are available the evening before the race and on the morning of the race at the AHS Auxiliary Gym. Race perks include a Turkey Dash race sweatshirt, post-run snacks such as pumpkin pie and fruit, and post-run beverages including coffee and hot chocolate. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers, and medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each age bracket from 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, up to 75-79 and 80+.
Registration and sponsorship
Registration opens September 2, 2025. Early bird fees are listed as $35 for adult runners and $25 for children 12 and under; fees increase after November 1, 2025. Sponsor levels are available with a cut-off for name/logo on swag of November 1, 2025, and range from $500 to $5,000 for different placement options.
