Event overview
The Napa Valley Trail event takes place on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Bothe-Napa Valley State Park in Saint Helena, California. The race is limited to 300 participants. Distances offered:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10K
The event notes it is a separate trail race and is not associated with the road Napa Valley Marathon scheduled in March 2026.
Course and logistics
Runners follow single-track trails with hills, streams, and rocky sections. The 10K is a single loop. The Half Marathon is two repeats of the 10K loop. Marathoners run the 10K loop, a 4-mile out-and-back extension, repeat that sequence, then finish with a final 10K loop. The course will be marked with orange ribbon at turns and trail crossings.
There is one aid station at the start/finish area; half marathoners pass it once between loops and marathoners pass it at approximate miles 6, 10, 16, and 20. Course cut-off time for the marathon is six hours. Bib numbers are mailed beginning two weeks before the event; participants who do not receive a bib may pick one up on race morning. T-shirts are provided to participants; finisher medals are issued to full and half marathoners and age-group ribbons are mailed to top three finishers in each age group. Parking inside the park has a $10 per vehicle fee; overflow parking is available along Highway 29. Headphones and other audio devices are not allowed on course.
