About the race
The New River Trail Challenge, held in Max Meadows, Virginia, is a multi-stage endurance event covering 65.2 miles along the scenic New River. The race features a flat, crushed cinder trail and smooth river conditions with small rapids. It begins with a 40-mile out-and-back bike leg, followed by a 12.1-mile downriver kayak paddle, and concludes with a half marathon run along the river.
