Event overview
The New Year's Day 5K & Fun Run takes place in Dallas, Texas on January 1, 2026. The event lineup includes:
- 5K
- 1M Fun Run
- Virtual Run
The in-person races are based at Katy Trail Ice House, 3127 Routh St, Dallas, TX 75201. The 5K is chip timed using disposable timing tags; the 1M Fun Run is not timed. Water stops are on the 5K course at mile 1 and mile 2.
Logistics and race features
Entry fees listed on the event page are $40 for the 5K, $35 for the 1M Fun Run, and $40 for the Virtual Run. Participants registered by December 5 will have their t-shirt size guaranteed. Virtual participants will receive a t-shirt and finisher medal by mail during the week after the event; there is no packet pickup for virtual runners.
Packet pickup is available on days before the event at Playtri Dallas, Hillside Village Shopping Center, and there is race day packet pickup at the race site. The venue offers 70 valet parking spots plus regular lot and street parking. Swag includes a long sleeve t-shirt, a finisher medal, and a brunch pass that covers a breakfast taco and a mimosa or beer for those 21 and over (ID required).
