Event overview
The New Year's Day 5K & Fun Run is scheduled for January 1, 2026 in Dallas, TX at the Katy Trail Ice House, 3127 Routh St, 75201. The event includes the following distances:
- 5K
- 1M Fun Run
- Virtual Run
The 5K takes place on the Katy Trail. Water stations are provided on the 5K course at mile 1 and mile 2. The 5K is chip timed and participants must wear a timing chip and a bib visibly on the front. The 1M Fun Run is not timed. Virtual participants receive a long sleeve t-shirt and a finisher medal by mail during the week after the race.
Logistics and extras
Entry prices listed are $45 for the 5K, $40 for the 1M Fun Run, and $45 for the Virtual Run; some price increase dates are noted on the event page. Packet pickup is offered in advance at Playtri Dallas, Hillside Village Shopping Center (address provided on the event page) with afternoon sessions at 3pm-6:30pm on two listed days, and race-day packet pickup and late registration are listed at the race site in the morning. The venue provides about 70 valet parking spots plus regular lot and street parking. Registered participants receive a brunch pass, a long sleeve t-shirt, and a finisher medal; extra brunch tickets are available. 5K awards include overall, masters and grand masters, and age-group prizes for multiple male and female categories.
