New Years Day 5K & Half Marathon : January 1, 2026
The event takes place in Cumming, GA at North Forsyth Middle School, 3645 Coal Mountain Rd, on January 1, 2026. It offers the following race options:
- 5K
- Virtual 5K
- Half Marathon
- Virtual Half Marathon
The course is certified and described as relatively flat. Chip timing will be used for start and finish. Water stations are placed at approximately every 1.5 miles. The event is capped at 500 participants. Awards will be given in multiple categories, including Top 3 Overall M/F, Top 3 Masters M/F, Grand Masters, Senior Masters, and 5-year age groups from 10 and under through 75+.
Registration, logistics, and policies
Registration pricing varies by period: preview $16, early bird $21, regular $26, late $28.50, and race day $31. Participants registered by December 22 are guaranteed race swag in their size; afterwards swag is while supplies last. Early packet pickup is available the day before the event at Brooklyn Joes. Race packet pickup is also provided on race morning.
A virtual option includes mailed swag within the continental US (lower 48 states). Virtual participants can submit results on the RunSignUp virtual results page until the end of day January 1; virtual results are posted the Monday after the event. All registrations are final; there are no refunds, deferments, or transfers. In extreme weather the event may be canceled with no refunds. Volunteer incentives include credit for five free races and the possibility of a $50 Visa gift card when specific recruitment and service conditions are met.
