Event overview
Night Train is an evening trail running event on the High Bridge Trail State Park in Farmville, VA. The event includes multiple distance options and starts and finishes at Camp Paradise. The course follows an old rail trail through fields, small towns and historic areas near Farmville. The finish line crosses the bridge.

Course and logistics
The course is mostly flat rail-trail but the organizer notes heat and extended distances between aid stations. 5K runners go 1.55 miles over the bridge and return. Half marathon runners reach downtown Farmville and return from a turnaround; 50K runners reach downtown, then Tuggle and Prospect aid stations, go 1 mile past Prospect to a turnaround and retrace their steps. Crew access is allowed at Downtown Farmville, Tuggle and Prospect. The 50K has a 9.5-hour time limit and the half marathon has a 5-hour time limit. The course is chip timed and the 50K distance is reported as slightly long, closer to 32 miles.
Race services and rules
The race is cupless; runners are required to carry water (recommendation of at least 20 ounces) and failure to carry water may lead to disqualification. Women receive tank tops; men receive T-shirts. All finishers receive awards; top three in each gender receive prizes. Gluten free options are available at aid stations if noted on registration.
