Nikolaus 5K Lauf and Fun Walk : overview
The Nikolaus 5K Lauf and Fun Walk is the 2nd annual event benefitting the IVC High School German program. It takes place on November 22, 2025, at City Park, 1115 North 2nd Street, Chillicothe, Illinois. The event includes a festive atmosphere with vendors, music, food, and entertainment inspired by traditional German Christmas markets. Proceeds support the local German language program.

Registration options include a Family Pricing discount for groups registering together. The family discount applies to the first four registrants in the same transaction; pricing shown is $100 for a family of four (rising to $120 as of November 7 and $125 on race day). Individual pricing tiers note shirts guaranteed for registrations from September 25 through November 6; shirts are not offered for later registration periods.
Packet pickup is available at the IVC Learning Center, 1057 N. 2nd St. Packets may be collected for friends and family. The 5K awards include overall male and female winners (gun time) and age-group awards (net time) for male and female in these groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 & over.
