About the race
Screaming Pumpkin is a Halloween-themed running event in Peoria, Illinois, held at Lower Glen Oak Park along North Prospect Road. The event features multiple distances: 2 mile Run/Walk, 6.55 mile Race, Half Marathon (Prediction Run), Full Marathon (Prediction Run), and Marathon Relay (Prediction Run). The course winds through Lower Glen Oak Park and through Springdale Cemetery, with loops for the longer distances (two loops for the half, four loops for the full).
The atmosphere blends chills and thrills with costumes encouraged, glowsticks marking the route, and headlamps required for the longer races.
