A set of five collectible race medals represents the North Olympic Peninsula and magnetizes together.
Course and logistics
The main races use a point-to-point course on the Olympic Discovery Trail, running from Sequim to Port Angeles, with about a five-mile finishing stretch along the shores of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The 5K, 10K and Kids Marathon are out-and-back along the strait. The trail is a rails-to-trails route with a hard surface - about 99% paved. The course is marked at every mile and water stations are located about every two miles. Wildlife commonly seen from the trail includes seals, eagles and shore birds; salmon appear at the Morse Creek crossing in fall. The marathon course is USATF certified and is a Boston Marathon qualifier. Hotel partners include a hotel at the 5K/10K start and finish and a hotel at the marathon start. The race is organized by the Port Angeles Marathon Association, a non-profit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
