Event overview
The Norwegian Foot March & Trail Run is an annual event presented by the Vessey Chapter of the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) and hosted at the Arden Hills Army Training Site (AHATS), 4761 Hamline Ave N, Arden Hills, MN. The event date is Saturday, April 18, 2026. The program includes a 30K Foot March, a 30K Trail Run, and a 5K Trail Run. The event is open to military personnel and their families, Junior and Senior ROTC programs, and the general public.
Format, standards, and logistics
The 30K Foot March follows specified uniform and equipment standards. Military participants wear combat fatigues in accordance with applicable regulations; civilians may wear appropriate civilian attire but must wear boots. Each foot march participant must carry a ruck weighing no less than 11 kilograms (24.3 pounds). Participants must have a water source at the start equivalent to at least one quart. Aid stations along the course will supply water and food. Cold or wet weather gear may be carried in the ruck but will not count toward ruck weight and must be removed for finish-line weighing.
Packet pickup occurs the day before the event and there is check-in the morning of the event. Awards are given to top overall and top age group finishers in the 30K, 5K, and Foot March events. Timing will be chip-timed by Pickle Events and results will be available at pickleevents.com. Proceeds benefit the AUSA Troops of Tomorrow initiative, the Minnesota VA Food Pantry, and military programs in Minnesota. Volunteers and AUSA membership opportunities are part of the event program.
