Event overview
The NYCRUNS Lousy T-Shirt Race takes place on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The event is a 5K and donates a portion of proceeds to the Prospect Park Alliance, the nonprofit that helps maintain Prospect Park. The race retains its name from the original 2011 event and includes a race shirt for participants; shirts are distributed on race day and sizes are not guaranteed.
Course and logistics
The course covers just under one full loop of Prospect Park with a final sprint up Center Drive. The course is USATF-certified. The Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and is reachable via Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive; bib pick-up and swag distribution occur there on race day. Start corrals are pace-based and labeled AA through F; corral letters are printed on bibs and the corrals are located on Well House Drive.
On-course hydration and electrolyte fluids are provided; smartwater cans will be available at the finish. Amenities include bag check (single clear bag required), portable bathrooms, post-race refreshments (ice pop, apple, pretzels), and race photos delivered by MarathonFoto. Handcycle and Wheelchair divisions are included. Results are emailed and posted online; awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary overall finishers by gun time and to top three in each age group by net time.
