Event overview
The OEC Nguyen Foundation presents an annual fun run at Sugar Land Memorial Park in Sugar Land, TX. The event includes the following distances:
- 5K
- Kids 1K (12 and under)
The 5K and Kids 1K are chip timed. Each registration includes a finisher's medal, t-shirt, and one ticket for a breakfast taco. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers in the 5K, and to the top three boys and top three girls in the Kids 1K. Parents may accompany children on the Kids 1K.
Location, course and logistics
The course starts at the main pavilion next to the playground, proceeds down University Blvd, turns left at the lake, circles the lake, returns on University Blvd with a turnaround before U of H, and finishes back at the pavilion. Runners enter the pavilion after finishing.
Pre-race packet pickup is available at Fleet Feet Sugar Land (15890 Southwest Fwy #600). Race day packet pickup is provided in the morning. There is parking by the main pavilion and public bathrooms next to the pavilion. No pets are allowed on the course; strollers are welcome. Post-run activities include firetrucks, firefighters, food, a raffle drawing, and live music. The event is held rain or shine; if conditions are deemed unsafe, the run may be cancelled and fees donated to the foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
