Course details and support
The course is out-and-back. Runners follow the Pacific Crest Trail north to Mason Valley Truck Trail, then descend roughly 2,000 feet into the desert via Oriflamme Canyon. At the desert floor the route joins the California Riding & Hiking Trail, crosses S2, passes through Box Canyon and reaches the Blair Valley turnaround at about mile 15.7 (water only). Return is on the same route, including the final climb up Oriflamme Canyon and the rolling single track back to Sunrise Trailhead. Terrain includes single track, rolling sections, sandy and rocky footing, and steep sections on the descent and ascent. Aid stations are fully stocked with water, electrolyte drink, gels, fruit, salty snacks, sweets and other foods. The race uses three course cutoffs located at the turnaround, at the Mason Valley return, and at the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
