About the race
Oriflamme 50k is an out-and-back ultramarathon set in the Anza-Borrego Desert near Julian, California. The 50K starts at Sunrise Trailhead and follows the Pacific Crest Trail north to Mason Valley Truck Trail, then descends into Oriflamme Canyon, runs along the California Riding & Hiking Trail through Box Canyon to Blair Valley, and returns. The course features single-track, a descent exceeding 2,000 feet, sandy/rocky terrain, and a 5+ mile climb back up Oriflamme Canyon.
Aid stations are fully stocked with water, electrolyte drink, gels, fruit, and snacks. With a 9-hour time limit and a 150-runner cap, it’s a SoCal Ultra Series qualifier and includes post-race food. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
