Event overview
The O’side Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving morning running event in Oceanside, California. The event marks its 20th annual edition and features two 5K options, a Double Dip challenge (complete two 5Ks), and kids races. The beachside course begins on Coast Highway and finishes near the strand behind the amphitheater in Oceanside. The event includes a costume contest, live entertainment on course, finisher medals, custom shirts, free race photos, chip timing with live results, and age group awards in local and open categories.
The event supports local nonprofits. The primary beneficiary is the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank. Ten percent of 5K registration fees go to selected charities, and the event has raised more than $500,000 for community organizations over its history.

Packet pick-up and an expo are held the day before at the Junior Seau Beach Community Center and on race morning at the Civic Center parking lot. Parking is free in city lots on Thanksgiving morning until 11:00am, and there is a complimentary parking shuttle from designated lots to the start area.
