About the race
Pennington Blue Jay Legacy Challenge is a community running event in Manassas, Virginia, at 9305 Stonewall Road. It features a 2.5-mile race and a 1-mile fun run/walk, with a combined Legacy Challenge option. Proceeds benefit a scholarship fund honoring Officer Philip Michael Pennington, the school’s namesake.
Packet pickup is at the school the day before the race. Finishers receive medals, with a special 5K-style medal for completing both events. Awards go to overall male and female winners for each race, plus age-group awards in the 2.5-mile and school-grade awards in the 1-mile.
