About the race
Pine Mountain Trail Run (PMTR) is an Old School Ultra held in FDR State Park, Pine Mountain, GA, about an hour from Atlanta. Celebrating 45 years, it offers 19-mile and 40-mile ultras through the Pine Mountain Trail system. The course is rocky single-track with rolling hills, leaf-covered footing, and occasional ankle-deep stream crossings, with elevation roughly 899–1,395 feet.
The event, hand selected by Ultra Running Magazine as an 'Old School Ultra,' returns in 2025 to the Liberty Bell Park start/finish. It is a non-profit race, with proceeds supporting GA State Parks; maps and resources are available from the Pine Mountain Trail Association.
